With several people living in one house, rubbish can build up surprisingly quickly. Keeping on top of your bins from the beginning will make your communal areas much nicer to live in.
Make Your Room Feel Like Home
Once the practical jobs are out of the way, you can actually start enjoying your new space.
Photos, bedding, cushions and a few familiar things from home can completely change how a student bedroom feels. Just remember that you're living in rented accommodation, so avoid making alterations that could cause damage.
Get Out and Explore Lancaster
Don't spend your entire first week unpacking.
